iAP: Industrial Automation Platform for Big Data

01.12.2018 bis 28.02.2021

The data driven services in industrial automation systems are transforming the world of automation industry by optimizing industrial processes and providing value added services in Industry 4.0 era. An industrial big data platform is necessary to achieve higher business value by integrating process data from shop floor, enterprise data and other data sources together. Collection and integration of such data from heterogeneous data sources in industrial automation systems are often timeintensive and labour-intensive tasks.
The aim of the research project to build an industrial big data platform that can collect, transport and store data in production systems on demand. Based on stored data, the data driven services such as predictive maintenance, condition monitoring will be provided for efficient machine and system operations. In the pilot applications , data is collected from OPC UA servers, devices which supports Modbus/TCP protocol, transported and stored in different types of databases based on demand driven data pipeline.
