Assistance systems to touch

Demonstrators of the SmartFactoryOWL are presented in Hamburg

The stand is ready, the visitors can come.

"Zukunft? Läuft!" is the motto of NORTEC, one of the most important trade fairs for production, which starts in Hamburg on January 21. More than 450 national and international exhibitors and over 12,000 trade visitors from the production industry are expected to attend the 4-day trade show. As great as the technological change is, as great is the need for information for all those involved in the industry. NORTEC offers the opportunity to find out about the latest innovations and to experience them at first hand. With the mix of a classic trade fair for production and a campus for SMEs, visitors will meet exciting exhibitors on all stages of value creation in production.

The Institute for Industrial Information Technology (inIT) and Fraunhofer IOSB-INA are also jointly managing a booth at the fair under the SmartFactoryOWL flag. The two research assistants Alexander Kuhn (inIT) and Sascha Martinetz (Fraunhofer IOSB-INA) present two demonstrators that show new technologies of assistance systems to touch. They will have with them a "pick by light" system for the assembly area and a form of mobile assistance thanks to an augmented reality application. "We are looking forward to interesting discussions and a lively exchange around the topics of innovative design of industrial production processes and Work 4.0 at our booth A3/200," says Kuhn. The trade fair offers small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in particular the opportunity to keep up with technological developments and remain competitive.
