itsowl-TT-AnySens: Support for life-cycle management of process sensors through semantic description and connection to cloud systems

01.01.2017 bis 31.10.2017

Today's process sensors of the transfer project partner no longer offer the possibility for the manufacturer to obtain real information about the service lives and failure rates after sales and installation at the customer site. In this transfer project, a concept for the central storage and evaluation of sensor data of distributed systems is therefore developed and evaluated in a prototypical implementation with a cloud connection. For this purpose, a semantic sensor description with e.g. OPC UA, SensorML, or MTConnect is investigated to realize the communication and the configuration. The goal is to enable access to the real data of sensors in the field, to reduce the time required for this, and to improve the reliability of the statements for life cycle management.
