01.03.2007 bis 30.06.2010

For about 5 years a constant growth of using wireless technologies in control engineering (AT) can be observed. However it is shown that commercial-off-the shelf technologies are mostly unsuitable and not manageable in the domain of industrial automation. In this project we want to work on technologies and solutions for realizing mobile reliable realtime services, which fullfill the criterions of real time communication, fast roaming and IT-security.

We focus our work to the topics below:

  • Observation and Verificaton of predicted Realtime Behavior.
  • Definition and Investigation of Realtime Behavior in Environments with Roaming and Scanning Conditions.
  • Definition and Design of an Security Layer for encrypted Data Transfer of confidential application data.
  • Investigation and Design of an Wireless Convergence-Layer for the  abstraction of different Radio Technologies.
  • Realization of a central Management Framework for wired and wireless Communication Networks.
  • Integration of Wireless Nodes to the Realtime Ethernet Standard PROFINET.
