User-Centered Design of Intelligent Environments: Requirements for Designing Successful Ambient Assisted Living Systems

This paper illustrates the importance of involving end users into the design process of Ambient Assisted Living applications. It especially focuses on two crucial aspects, the involvement of senior users and the home as the primary application domain. Based on this theoretical foundation, requirements for successful system design are elaborated.
