CaPHANDY e. V. is a non-profit association of Caritas workshops for people with disabilities that has been operating as a network for over 30 years. Introduction to digital assistance systems

Prof. Dr mult. Carsten Röcker, Member of the Board at inIT, opened the event with an exciting presentation on the transformative power of digital assistance systems. In particular, he explained how these systems can be specifically adapted to meet the diverse needs of modern workplaces and promote broader inclusion. At inIT, his Human-Technology Interaction working group researches digital assistance systems.

Practical insights into digital assistance systems

Eckard Bicker from delta3 GmbH rounded off the event with practical examples of digital assistance systems in different working environments. This part of the programme was made interactive by the fact that visitors had the opportunity to try out some systems directly on site. This hands-on experience highlighted the ease and user-friendliness of the technologies. In addition, an intensive exchange between all those present deepened the understanding of how digital assistance systems can be used in practice. Many of the visitors' questions were answered in detail.

Guided tour of the SmartFactoryOWL

After the presentations, participants had the opportunity to take part in a guided tour of the SmartFactoryOWL. This tour provided an in-depth insight into practical research at the Innovation Campus Lemgo.

Connecting to succeed

The event underlines the importance of exchange between research institutions and practice-oriented networks. Visits like today's by CaPHANDY e. V. at inIT show once again how important close cooperation between research and application is in order to make working environments more inclusive," emphasised Prof. Dr. mult. Carsten Röcker.
