Current fuel prices are discouraging motorists from driving. Probably, it is currently more financially worthwhile than ever to switch to an electric car. The Institute Industrial IT (inIT) at the OWL University of Applied Sciences and Arts has been using electric vehicles for several years. Now the employees can look forward to a new model: The Peugeot e208 has recently been made available for business trips.
For inIT, topics and projects from the fields of electrical engineering, technical informatics and mobility are part of its daily business. Therefore, it is quite logical to also make use of vehicles with electric mobility. The inIT has its own charging station, which, with a PV system on the roof, provides "green power" from renewable energies.
The Peugeot painted in "inIT-blue" has a power of 100kW and the driving range is about 350-362 km depending on the driving style and switched on devices. The power consumption is (combined) 16 -15.4 kWh/100km and that with 0 g/km CO2 emission. The stickers with the inIT logos give the company vehicle its unique look.
"The car is good on the road and brings enormous driving pleasure. In addition, the price-performance ratio is unbeatable. We can use the new car for short and medium distances and now have about 100km more driving range than with our previous models. As a result, we no longer need to borrow a "gasoline-powered" car for longer distances," says Benedikt Lücke, who, together with two other colleagues, is responsible for managing the car at inIT, summing up the advantages.
