This year’s IEEE International Conference on Emerging Technologies and Factory Automation (ETFA 2016) is not without a reason taking place in Germany’s capital Berlin from 06. to 09. September. The field of Industrial Automation is innovation driver of Germany’s machine and plant engineering. Researchers from Lemgo are experts in these fields. Since 2009 they are jointly working on leading-edge technology for the factory of the future. They develop IKT-based solutions for intelligent products and production technology. It is logical that in this year the researchers organize the world’s most important conference in this field. Thereby the institutes from Lemgo considerably increase their international visibility in the field of intelligent technical systems.
Industry 4.0 – an international research topic
The conference is an ideal platform for industry and science for presenting latest developments and innovative technologies in the field of manufacturing automation. Market leaders meet at the conference and bring in the latest trends and research results. “More than 200 contributions in the field of automation were selected – the conference participants can expect an exciting and varied scientific exchange”, so Professor Dr. Jürgen Jasperneite, one of the two conference leaders. Renowned experts in the fields of Industry 4.0, Automation Technology, Big Data and Networking give an insight into latest research findings, including Prof. Dr. Reimund Neugebauer (President Fraunhofer Society), Prof. Dr. Rolf Ernst (Technical University Braunschweig), Prof. Dr. John S. Baras (University of Maryland, USA), Prof. Dr. Wolfgang E. Nagel (Technical University, Dresden) and Prof. Dr. Alf Isaksson (ABB Corporate Research, Sweden). Participants can inform themselves about intelligent technical systems at ETFA “Industry Day”, that is organized in cooperation with it’s OWL.
Not just renowned researchers and developers get together at ETFA 2016 but also students and young professionals are welcome. They can participate in the “Young Professional Days” (a collaboration with Bildungsmotor it’s OWL) and inform themselves about training possibilities and career options.
