inIT contributes significantly to the international IEEE Conference ETFA 2024

The Institute Industrial IT (inIT) of the Technische Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe (TH OWL) participated in the Technical Programme Committee and with eight technical contributions at ETFA 2024, a leading IEEE conference for automation technologies, which took place this year from 10 to 13 September in Padua, Italy.

Eight inIT researchers presented their research results at this year's ETFA. inIT made a significant contribution to the programme not only with its specialist contributions, but also by coordinating the important technical track ‘Artificial Intelligence for Cyber-Physical Systems in Automation’. This track was organised by Prof. Dr. Lukasz Wisniewski from inIT and Prof. Tullio Facchinetti from the University of Pavia. They were responsible for this interesting part of the programme on the application of artificial intelligence in industry.

inIT was also strongly represented in the technical programme committee of ETFA 2024. Contributors from the institute were Christoph-Alexander Holst, Maxim Friesen, Prof. Dr. Jürgen Jasperneite, Prof. Dr. Markus Lange-Hegermann, Prof. Dr. Henning Trsek and Prof. Dr. Lukasz Wisniewski.

Fraunhofer IOSB-INA and inIT: Innovation strong in the region

Our long-standing partner, Fraunhofer IOSB-INA, with whom we already jointly organised ETFA 2016, was also represented in large numbers at this year's conference. This cooperation emphasises the importance of regional research networks that operate globally and at the same time strengthen local innovation.

"ETFA is one of the most important international platforms for presenting new technologies in the field of factory automation. It offers a unique opportunity to exchange ideas and network with experts from all over the world. We look forward to using the results of ETFA 2024 and contributing to the further development of automation technologies," points out Prof. Dr. Lukasz Wisniewski.

With its active participation, inIT emphasises its role as a leading research institute in the field of industrial information technology.
