The initiative under the patronage of the Federal President and Deutsche Bank annually awards outstanding ideas and projects from the fields of Industry, Science, Environment, Society, Culture and Education that make a contribution to Germany's sustainability. Professor Jürgen Jasperneite, Director of Fraunhofer Application Center IOSB-INA and co-initiator of CIIT, is delighted that the top-level research from Lemgo in the field of Information Technology and Automation is an established name nationally as well as internationally.
According to the motto “NachbarschafftInnovationen – Gemeinschaft als Erfolgsmodell” the CIIT supplied a convincing answer to the question how joint action can master the challenges of tomorrow. Specialization and a clear focus on a certain topic area was a successful concept for CIIT and its partners. Sybille Hilker, director head office of CIIT, emphasizes: “Besides research at high level, it is especially the cooperation between industry and science that characterizes the CIIT”.
Jürgen Fitschen, member of the board of directors of Deutsche Bank and presidium member of the initiative “Land of Ideas e.V.”, describes CIIT’s key to success with community, partnership and collaboration. Because of this, CIIT is one of 100 flagship projects for Germany as a location.
Ulrich Grillo, President of Bundesverband der Deutschen Industrie e.V. (BDI) and chairman of the Land of Ideas, emphasizes that networking and collaboration is important – especially facing upcoming challenges like globalization or migration. “In Lemgo we are able to show that collaborations work and offer potential for SMEs”, says Jasperneite.
A panel of 16 judges and an advisory board hat picked 100 winners from more than 1000 applications.
