The seminar served to exchange and discuss current research projects in Portugal and in East Westphalia-Lippe (OWL). After introductory words by Institute Director Prof. Dr. Volker Lohweg, Prof. Dr. Torres presented his research results on the digitalisation of forestry machines. The seminar was complemented by presentations on the Industry 4.0 landscape in OWL and by Christoph-Alexander Holst, research group leader at inIT, on AI methods in steel spring production.
The inIT would like to thank Prof. Torres for his visit and his presentation on the digitalisation of forestry machinery, which highlights the potential of Industry 4.0 for the field of sustainable production. Prof. Torres also took the opportunity to give a lecture to the International Master on Information Technology (Master IT) students in the Information Fusion course, which led to a valuable exchange of experiences between researchers and future professionals. The Institute looks forward to future opportunities for collaboration.
