Successful milestone meeting in the KI.inklusiv project

KI.inklusiv project: AI solutions promote inclusion in workshops

KI.inklusiv milestone meeting in Gütersloh.

The milestone meeting of the KI.inklusiv project recently took place in Gütersloh. The research project, which is dedicated to the development of an AI-supported assistance system to promote inclusion in workshops for disabled people (i.e. sheltered workshops), has reached important milestones. The Institute Industrial IT (inIT) of the Technische Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe (TH OWL) has made considerable progress and successfully implemented a demonstrator in the workshop of the social services company wertkreis Gütersloh gGmbH.

Goal: Digital transformation for more inclusion

The aim of the project is to develop and evaluate a resilient assistance system that responds to the individual support needs of employees in sheltered workshops - both on site and when working from home. The experiences of the coronavirus pandemic in particular highlight the importance of innovative digital solutions for inclusion in the world of work.

inIT working group achieves key project goal

inIT’s Human-Technology Interaction working group headed by Prof. Dr. mult. Carsten Röcker has achieved a key project goal with the development of an interactive demonstrator. At the milestone meeting, the team presented the demonstrator, which was developed in close collaboration with the project partners delta3 and wertkreis Gütersloh.

The demonstrator impressively shows how Artificial Intelligence (AI) improves work processes through adaptive support. The central functions include a mobile assistance platform and user-specific interfaces that are specifically tailored to the individual requirements of employees with disabilities.

Milestone on the road to inclusion

The demonstrator of the KI.inklusiv project marks an important step towards a more inclusive and resilient working world. The project participants - inIT, Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences (HSBI), delta3 GmbH and wertkreis Gütersloh gGmbH - are proud of the results achieved so far and are looking forward to the next project stages.
