Due to the pandemic, choosing the right course of study has become more difficult for many students due to a lack of internships and contacts. Professors Markus Lange-Hegermann (inIT, Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science) and Andreas Deuter (Department of Production and Wood Technology) took the time to present the study programs Data Science and Digital Engineering to around 600 students.
The presentation took place as part of the career information day organized by Phoenix Contact in Schieder-Schwalenberg. The 50 schools invited sent over 600 students. In addition, there were many other visitors who showed great interest in the presentations, workshops and discussions about study places and apprenticeships, and of course in the snacks on offer! Phoenix Contact is currently looking for young people in the fields of computer science and engineering, especially for the dual study programs Data Science and Digital Engineering.
Together with current students of TH OWL, Prof. Markus Lange-Hegermann presented the degree programs of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, with a focus on the Data Science degree program. For more than eight hours, he was in demand as a contact person and answered numerous questions, e.g. on the differentiation of the numerous innovative computer science courses at TH OWL or with which course of study personal goals can best be achieved.
Prof. Andreas Deuter says: "Hopefully we will see as many of the young visitors as possible in a technical apprenticeship or study again soon." Prof. Markus Lange-Hegermann affirms: "Currently, they have the best career prospects after an exciting course of study."
Those interested in TH OWL's degree programs can currently enroll not only in Data Science, but also in Digital Management Solutions, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Medical and Health Technology, and Computer Engineering. https://www.th-owl.de/en/studies/starting-your-degree/applynow
