The Competence Centre Arbeitswelt.Plus has reached its fourth milestone with impressive results from research and practice. The Competence Centre is investigating the implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods in the working environments of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). As part of the fourth milestone meeting in Paderborn, the participants recently celebrated the successes achieved. The Institute Industrial IT (inIT) of Technische Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe (TH OWL), represented by Christoph-Alexander Holst, is actively involved in the Competence Centre with practical projects and workshops.
Competence Centre Arbeitswelt.Plus
Arbeitswelt.Plus brings together research, SME-orientated services and transfer projects to make AI solutions accessible to companies. The focus is on how AI methods will specifically relieve employees and make thus processes more efficient. The Competence Centre works closely with industry partners and develops innovative solutions to strengthen SMEs.
Successful milestone meeting
The milestone meeting offered exciting insights into successfully completed projects, including AI solutions to support employees in quality control, AI-based knowledge management and intelligent workforce scheduling. The completed lighthouse projects with Lenze and Weidmüller Germany were particularly emphasised.
inIT’s participation
Christoph-Alexander Holst, research associate in Prof. Dr. Volker Lohweg's Discrete Systems working group at inIT, is contributing his expertise to the Automated Assessment of Dispersion Tests project. The aim is to optimise visual testing through Machine Learning and provide employees with targeted support. He also shares his knowledge of how AI will improve demand planning in companies in workshops.

Arbeitswelt.Plus as a bridge between research and application
The milestone meeting emphasises the relevance of Arbeitswelt.Plus as a platform for integrating AI methods into the world of work. The successful collaboration between research and practice shows how AI solutions not only advance technologies, but also make people's everyday working lives easier. Congratulations to everyone involved in the project on the successes achieved!
