East Westphalia-Lippe is at the forefront of the development of the latest real-time communication technology. The Institute Industrial IT (inIT) at the OWL University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Lemgo invites you to a symposium on the topic of 5G in industry. Among other things, results from the research project TACNET 4.0 will be presented and some practical applications of 5G will be demonstrated.
The overarching goal of TACNET 4.0 was to develop a unified industrial 5G communication system that integrates 5G networks and industrial communication networks. For this purpose, 5G concepts were extended with existing industry-specific approaches, cross-network adaptation mechanisms were developed, and open interfaces between industrial and mobile radio systems were integrated.
Funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, a consortium of industry and science has been working on this challenging project since 2017. The Institute Industrial IT (inIT) at the OWL University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Lemgo has been involved from the very beginning.
On December 1, 2021, an event will take place at the inIT in Lemgo, where a summary will be drawn at the end of the project. The project was put out to tender nationwide.
The symposium is addressed to
- Researchers in the field of industrial communications, wireless communications and mobile communications
- Developers and product managers at manufacturers of mobile radio components, network technology and automation devices
- Users in mechanical and plant engineering, in factory and process automation
Moderated by Tobias Häusler.
He moderates the nationwide news magazines on WDR television and on WDR 2. His main focus in moderating events is the topic around digitalization, sustainability and transformation of the Ruhr region. Among other things, he moderated the Digital Summit for the German government.
