At various stations, you can gain insights into robotics, artificial intelligence and Industry 4.0 technologies and exchange ideas with campus employees. Whether it's soldering, creating an individual portrait using artificial intelligence or an interactive treasure hunt using a tactile treasure map - our program offers something for everyone!
Program highlights:
- IA-Lab: discover innovation! Explore a variety of machines and tools. Highlight: soldering basics and 3D printer demos. Create your own goodie to take home. In regular use, the IA Lab not only provides start-ups and students with an impressive range of machines, materials and tools for prototyping, but also supports them in their research and teaching.
- Photo box: Creative real-time experiences! Let Neural Style Transfer surprise you! Choose your style, smile at the camera and you can take your artwork home with you on your smartphone. A great visual experience!
- Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs): Learn through our demonstrator how GANs manipulate data, such as images or measurements, and the potential dangers. Gain a better understanding of how this technology works and the issues it raises.
- Tactile scavenger hunt: Get creative yourself! Design tactile maps and explore the SmartFactoryOWL on an exciting scavenger hunt. Go through all the stations and look forward to a little surprise at the end.
This program highlight is organised and hosted by the TH OWL Inclusion Office. - Deepfake demo: Fascination - but also danger! Learn how deepfake methods are used by hackers to obtain data and information. At our demo, you can use deepfake methods yourself and transform yourself into a famous personality in no time at all.
- IMPOSTER: Fascination - but also danger! Find out how deepfakes are used by hackers to obtain data and information. In some cases, attackers even use them to trigger financial transactions - for example, by manipulating video conferences. In our demo, you can use deepfakes yourself and become a famous person in no time.
- TEACHER Demonstrator: Discover the Future of Production! Find out how modular production stations interconnect to tackle complex manufacturing tasks and get an exclusive look at the TEACHER demonstrator (Platform for new Technology, Education And industrial Cooperation via Hands-on Experimental Research)-live on site and through a dynamic 3D simulation of the production line. After the demonstration, take home a fidget spinner from our production line-ready to spin! A perfect way to see modern technology in action.
- Mobility stand: Autonomous driving - safe, sustainable & honoured with the German Mobility Award 2024! Find out more about the NeMo.bil project, which aims to realise future-oriented mobility for urban and rural areas on the basis of smaller, automated vehicles. A highlight of the Open Factory Day? Take a seat in the NeMo.bil vehicles and experience them up close! You can also observe how our autonomous model vehicles drive their routes safely and independently.
Fraunhofer IOSB-INA has also planned other great hands-on activities, games and lab tours for the day.
The Open Factory Day will take place as part of the Open Day of the Technische Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe (TH OWL). There will therefore be many other activities and events throughout the Innovation Campus Lemgo that you can discover on the day.
The SmartFactoryOWL is a joint facility of the Fraunhofer IOSB-INA and the TH OWL. Come along and take a look at the factory of the future! Registration is not necessary.
Date: Saturday, May 17, 2025 | 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
