Evolution der IT/OT-Security durch modulare Anlagenkonzepte

The current requirements for the security of modular systems are constantly increasing. New regulations and changes in the global market are currently determining future boundary conditions. This article analyzes the initial situation for the security and safety of modular systems in the process industry. Based on an exemplary object of consideration in accordance with VDI/VDE Guideline 2182 and selected use cases, requirements for the object of consideration (intra-modular) and its environment (plant-wide) are derived. The requirements determined in this way (derived from modulation, safety, security, regulation) are then transferred to a reference architecture. This raises the question of which methods, design patterns and best practice approaches exist with regard to architecture formation and whether a single generic reference architecture can be mapped from this. This should form the base for further security considerations in the context of the application of VDI/VDE 2182.
