RetI: Relevanzbewertung technischer Informationen mittels Fusions-Ansätzen am Anwendungsfall der Patentrecherche

01.04.2013 bis 31.01.2015

Patents protect the intellectual property of inventors and prevent new ideas from being copied. They are of great importance for the economic success of a company. Prior to a patent application it is important to investigate whether a certain technology has already been patented and to assess the chances for success. InTraCom Group already developed a software tool which allows an effective patent research and positioned it on the market.

The objective of the project is the realisation of semantic analysis concepts for professional researchers. The focus lies on adequate algorithms enabling relevance evaluation of technical information related to a search request. The algorithms which are developed by information fusion approaches are based on a semantic analysis with subsequent pattern recognition of bibliographic data of patent documents.
